In the past few months Jeremy Mackenzie (tinyurl.com/ycx6ejaw) has been promoting a half-baked concept for a breakaway nation called “Diagalon”. It could best be described as a low-rent Kekistan, but let's take a closer look.

1/13

According to Mackenzie the states/provinces that are not mandating masks/vaccines make a diagonal line across North America, hence the name Diagalon.

2/13

One of his viewers says that Diagalon should be a “white sanctuary”.
A part of the meme is that Diagalon is at war with "Circulon".

3/13

By the way, Mackenzie himself cites Kekistan as influencial in the creation of Diagalon.
Note: The Kekistan flag which mimics a Nazi battle flag is considered a symbol of hate by the @SPLC.

As mentioned on the @CANADALAND podcast with Liz Simons of @antihateca, Jeremy considers the Mannerbund(a popular song with white nationalists) to be their national anthem.

Jeremy's followers use a sideways (diagonal) Roman salute as a gesture among themselves.

6/13

As I recently mentioned, Nazi imagery is common within Diagalon social media spaces.

Also common are racist and antisemitic slurs.

Threats against government officials, journalists.... oh and yours truly are also very common in their discussions.

Whenever I mention things that Mackenzie has said, some of his supporters will respond by telling me that “He's just joking. It's all jokes.”
Well not according to him.

9/13

Jeremy even claims that “serious conversations are happening behind the scenes”.

Diagalon chapters are setting up across the country, and a couple internationally. And there is a lot of talk about guns.

11/13

Very important to point out that his supporters have no problems displaying their flags publicly, at protests, and with certain politicians.

12/13

Jeremy and his followers can say “It's just memes bro” or “We're not Nazis, we're ironic” all they want.
We've heard this alt-right gas-lighting before. Charlottesville and Jan 6 already happened.
Nobody is falling for it.
