(🧵of x) September was full of surprises and all. So now we can finally show them all to you in our September 2021 #WxWrapUp. (1/7)
Tropics: The WPac had 2 notable storms. Conson (Jolina) did some notable impacts to the Central Philippines. With damages estimates reaching $1B PH, it's likely the local name Jolina will be retired. We also had the monster typhoon Chanthu (Kiko) with winds up to 180mph. (2/7)
In the EPac, things were quiet with only 1 storm which was Olaf which hit Baja California Sur & hugged the coast. They were reported damages & 1 death unfortunately. It managed to reached C2 status before all was said & done. (3/7)
And we can't forget the ATL as there was an uptick in activity with Larry, Mindy, Nicholas, & Sam being the most notable ones out of all of them. We already reached Victor as well. Nicholas did the most damage out of all, sitting at over $1B. (4/7)
SevereWx: In the early part of the month, we had quite a few tornadoes in ON. We had a waterspout the moved onshore & caused significant damage in Lucknow. And there was another strong 1 near Kenilworth, both rated EF2. (5/7)
Italy had a few strong tornadoes that month. The 1st one was a strong waterspout that moved onshore in Pantelleria that was rated F2 & 2 were killed. Then, a small outbreak in N Italy with 7 tornadoes (4 F2s). And in NSW, AUS, we had a strong tornado that injured a few. (6/7)
