Public health officials' endless quest for zero COVID has had dire costs they refuse to acknowledge

Public health is about health in general, not just ending COVID in particular

How public health experts ignored public health: A thread 🧵

Lockdowns, constant doomsday media reports led to increased drinking & unhealthy habits

Those habits didn't just include drinking, but unhealthy eating and weight gain, when, as we now know, obesity leads to worse COVID outcomes

Lockdowns closed hospitals and limited procedures to emergencies only. Many did not receive critical preventative care

Lockdowns also harmed some of the most vulnerable Americans we have a duty to protect: Children

The effects of lockdowns didn't just affect American children but children and people all over the world

And it wasn't just children who were affected. The mental health crisis caused by public health experts dogged focus on COVID extended to adult Americans as well

Perhaps some costs are justified if lockdowns worked. But the reality is they had no clear benefit

No wonder Americans do not trust the public health experts who ignored public health

If we did poorly at work we'd lose our jobs. The expert class pays zero price for getting it wrong.

Fauci is the highest-paid bureaucrat in gov. No one shut him down. He hasn't lost a cent. NatGeo made a movie lauding him.

2022 is just around the corner, don't forget!
