This week will be sharing some of the most popular #ICUOnePagers onepagericu.com

️⃣ Overview of Ventilator Modes - covers all the common modes (VC, PC, PRVC, PS, APRV) & the pros/cons of each. Also covers the settings for each & how to adjust based on ABG/SpO2.

️⃣Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation - covers when to (& when NOT to) use CPAP, BIPAP, and other non-invasive modes. Also describes the different interfaces (helmet, full/partial face mask, nasal), & how to adjust settings (IPAP, EPAP, rise time, etc).

️⃣Approach to undifferentiated shock - describes the four categories of shock (cariogenic, obstructive, distributive, and hypovolemic), the hemodynamic characteristics of each (including Guyton curves), and method you can use to differentiate them using physical exam & POCUS.

️⃣Blood products - this #ICUOnePager describes the different blood products (RBCs, FFP, PLT, etc) & when/how to transfuse them. It also covers all the potential adverse reactions to blood products (febrile, hemolytic, allergic, TRALI, TACO, etc) and what you can do to treat them.

️⃣ECMO Fundamentals & Troubleshooting - These 2 OnePagers (made in collaboration w/ @JonahRubinMD) describe how the #ECMO circuit works & how to troubleshoot problems.

️⃣End Tidal CO2 monitoring (Capnography) - this #ICUOnePager explains the physiology of PaCO2 PETCO2, explains the equipment, reviews how to use ETCO2 (confirm ETT, perform safer procedural sedation, guide ACLS/resuscitation, etc) and covers some common waveforms

️⃣Renal Replacement Therapy - this OnePager summarizes what venous access options are available, how RRT works, & what all those terms mean (Qb, Qd, UF, SCUF, CVVHD, etc). A great overview for someone new to CRRT in the ICU.

️⃣ Vasopressors! - when to give 'em, how to give 'em safely peripherally, when/how to use push-dose pressors. Also the eternal question of which pressor to use (norepi, epi, vaso, neo, dopamine, angiotensin, etc) & all about pressor adjuncts (methylene blue, cyanokit, steroids).

️⃣Lactic Acidosis & Hypoxemia - 2 of the most common ICU problems (& most commonly misunderstood ones). These OnePagers cover the physiology, a differential, & an approach. Beautiful work on lactate in collaboration with @MRamzyDO (Follow him for lost of great infographics!)
