The Nigerian Navy is set to launch its 3rd domestically built warship just 9 Days from now.

Seward Defence Boat 3 was conceptualized and designed marine and weapons engineers..

and built at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard Limited. It will be the most advanced and heavily armed version of the SDB series, drawing on lessons learnt from SDB 1 (NNS Andonni) and SDB 2 (NNS Karaduwa) and improved technical expertise garnered over the years.

This makes Nigeria among the elite few Africa to designed and build something from the scratch to finish in its own shipyard. 

These milestones dont go unnoticed. Besides Cameroon, D.R Congo has reached out to the Nigerian Navy for partnership in shipbuilding and maintanance.

Most African navies rely on foreign vendors to build or to supply patrol vessels. Nigeria presents a cost saving alternative. Nigeria already supply MRAPS to a number of African countries and is close to a contractual agreement with Belarus for ARA II MRAPS
