The Defence Space Administration was established by the Federal Government in 2016 to create a robust indigenous space competence that is capable of producing and utilizing space assets to meet the operational requirements for our military.

The Defence Space Administration is the Nigerian military's first new uniform service in 65 years. A sub division created to act as force multiplier and help in tackling the myriads of security challenges facing the country.

Many of these men will form the first crop of this new branch. Nigeria has in the past two decades been placing satellites into Space, with more satellites in orbit than any other nation in Africa today.

In April, Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo visited the DSA with a proposal to interface with the Navy’s Maritime Domain Awareness Assets for mutual benefit towards eliminating maritime criminality including oil theft, piracy and pipeline vandalisn.

speaking of which, the U.S. Space Force started a war games yesterday to test satellite network under attack.

You know things are heating up when the U.S is testing satellite resiliency to threats from China and Russia miles above the earth, just weeks after Russia shot down an aging satellite. The space war game attempts to simulate the cutting edge of U.S. capability in space.
