Most amazing experience I ever had during travel just happened now at @klm flight KL1861 to Düsseldorf at @schiphol. When I entered the plane, no one was in there . No ground crew, no pilot, no stewards. No one. (1/4)
I searched the whole ✈️ to see if I was dreaming . I was not . (2/4)
For a brief moment, there were also no other passengers (I entered the ✈️ as first person ). We all started shouting , looking for cabin people and pilotes. We walked around the plane . No one was there. (3/4)
Finally someone showed up. The check in people and the ground crew didn’t communicate in a proper way and Skyteam passengers were already allowed to enter the plane although the crew was still in another place (4/6)
Finally, a stewardess arrived and asked passengers to leave the ✈️ for security check. So we left again with our luggage. 5 minutes later we could enter again. “Somebody will get some serious spanking tonight” the pilot said. Next tweet: what happened? (5/6)
The crew just came from Cork but were too late, they hurried to my plane by bus . That’s why we didn’t see them. Ground crew was not informed that the crew was missing (6/6)
And sorry for the typos; I was live typing in and around the ghost plane :)(7/7)
I just landed safely with the initial ghost plane. For a brief moment, I thought I had seen proof of quantum mechanics with my own eyes, entering a breach in reality. Unfortunately it was just a gigantic security breach:) (8/8)
PS . (9/9)
For 5 minutes we owned the Embraer plane of @klm. What security errors where made?
- no security people near aircraft, they left too early
- no crew to stop me, they were in a bus and too late
- “check in“ allowed us to enter into empty plane assuming ground crew was ok (10/10)
Meanwhile, industry insiders are starting to remember things, see below. And a captain responds: (11/11)
The trip was Warschau - Düsseldorf , but with a extra leg via AMS
