In the Eric Coomer v trump case, an attorney named Brandon Johnson was deposed. Brandon Johnson was an independent contractor for Defending the Republic comma Inc.
What is Defending the Republic comma Inc? The better question is who…a wee thread🧵👇🏻
Defending the Republic comma Inc. is how Johnson referenced a 501c4 charity in Texas. This manner of reference may be important, but for our purposes I will be using Defending the Republic or DTR because I don’t want to keep typing Defending the Republic comma Inc.
Defending the Republic was created Dec 1, 2020 and listed as its Directors were Joe Flynn, Michael Flynn and Sidney Powell. It was created in Texas. They received donations through their website. Their mission essentially to educate about election integrity, preserve republic.
On Dec 27, 2020, Rep Louie Gohmert sued VP Mike Pence. That case alleged ‘competing slates of electors from contested states’ & ‘the VP has the sole discretion’ to determine which to count. His arguments rely on the 12th Amendment and Electoral College Act being unconstitutional.
Here is that case. It was dismissed.

But those arguments from Louie Gohmert seem really familiar.
🗣LIKE A 6 POINT PLAN TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT familiar.
If you haven’t already, you should read the John Eastman memo. Here it is. Notice the similarities. s3.documentcloud.org/documents/2106…
But Joe, you began this wee thread talking about Defending the Republic. What does that have to do with a lawsuit brought by Louie Gohmert using John Eastman’s arguments?
Do you want to know which newly formed charity represented sitting Member of Congress Louie Gohmert in that lawsuit against Mike Pence? The suit that alleged Electoral College Act was unconstitutional?
It was Defending the Republic.
So the charity directed by Lt. General Mike Flynn, his brother, and Sidney Powell, whose mission is to provide education on election integrity and preserving the republic, also provides legal services to congressmen who sue the Vice President in an effort to overturn an election.
Did Flynn suggest the lawsuit? If so, which one? Why did Gohmert bring this case? These would be good questions for the @January6thCmte to ask former JUDGE and current Congressman Louie Gohmert while he’s under oath.
But there is more to the story of Defending the Republic. It includes a woman named Staci Burk from Arizona.
Burk was also part of a lawsuit in relation to the election.
Loooooong story short, Burk had been considered a whistleblower of sorts and as such was being ‘protected’(🤷🏼♂️) by the First Amendment Praetorian.
Yes, the same 1st Amendment Praetorian that had been Lt. General Flynn’s bodyguards when he was in DC at Jericho Marches, Rallies, Hotels, Oval Offices and what have you.
As part of their protection (🤷🏼♂️) Burk alleges the 1AP stole her phone. She spoke about this with Joe Flynn. Listen to the audio here in this thread from @visionsurreal. You should really bookmark and read all of this.👇🏻
Yes. You did just hear Staci Burk tell Director of Defending the Republic Joe Flynn:
‘Your brother sent the praetorian guard’ and yes, you further heard Joe Flynn say:
‘No,no,no, Defending the Republic!’
The entire transcript from the deposition of Brandon Johnson is below. Deep within its pages there can be found exhibits in the Coomer v. trump case. One that stuck out to me had to do with a Defending the Republic post about New Hampshire.

All of this amounts to just how critical it is that the @January6thCmte does it’s work, the @TheJusticeDept do theirs, and the media do theirs.
