After visiting brahmapureeswarar temple we went to Thirukolakka where Lord Shiva blessed the 3 year old Thirugnanasambandhar with gold cymbals!
Though Lord Shiva gave him cymbals, the music came only after Ambal blessed him with music. Lord shiva is called as Thalapureeswarar and Ambal as Osainayagi.
Very calm place and there is hardly anyone around. If you go in evenings, you can listen to thevara pathigams sung by Tiruttani swaminathan. Just you and Lord Shiva. Quite an experience to visit during twilight!
The Dakshinamurthy here is seen along with his disciples on either side! Have never seen like this before!
This Dakshinamurthy is left just like that in the outer courtyard 😒
Within Ambal sannidhi they have kept the old statue which has been slightly damaged as well. Don’t miss to see the beautiful, graceful sculpture in close quarters!
Apparently Mahalakshmi got married to Vishnu here in Thirukolakka. Also visiting this temple helps those wish to excel in music, and also get rid of any speech related issues.
