Utilizing funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, states will be able to repair and replace crumbling bridges that cost their communities millions of dollars each year.

Here are a few examples of those bridges:

Built in 1933, this bridge spans the Abernethy Creek and serves an estimated 10,100 drivers each day. This small, aging bridge is at maximum capacity and is not high enough to be a reliable evacuation route during floods.

This small, rural bridge was built in 1925 and is used by local farmers and ranchers. The bridge is deteriorating and needs replacement.

Grand Avenue Bridge is a movable bridge over the North Branch of the Chicago River that carries around 13,000 vehicles per day. The bridge has been closed multiple times for emergency repairs in recent years.

Originally constructed in 1921, this bridge is the oldest of its kind in Arizona.

Originally built in 1946, this bridge was recently closed due to age and deterioration. Bridge closures like this hurt local economies.

Originally built in 1936, this bridge carries more than 4,000 vehicles a day across the Saco river and is in need of repairs.

Built in 1968, this important bridge in need of repair keeps the southern cities of Las Cruces, NM and El Paso, TX connected.
