An East London primary school has banned pupils from eating puddings at lunch as it ‘impacts their education’ 🧁🥄

🍽 Scott Wilkie Primary School in Newham has banned sweet treats with its school lunches.

Staff were concerned that puddings were causing a ‘sugar crash’ which left pupils tired and irritable in the afternoon 🎓😒

🍬The budget previously used for puddings will now cater for a healthy morning snack for pupils at the school

The snacks include fruit bowls, yoghurts and cereal bars 🍎

👩‍🏫 Executive headteacher Keri Edge said children were often “tired and irritable” in the afternoon due to a sugar crash.

Staff believed it was impacting their “capacity to learn”.
