Harassment of poll workers threatens our democracy and a fair process. Under the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, poll workers are more protected against harassment.

Native Americans are now being asked to leave their communities to cast their vote, and The John Lewis Voting Rights Act will allow for polling sites and voter registration on reservations.

Whether it’s concern over the pandemic, being able to get to the polls, or travelling for work, not every voter can cast their vote locally. Early voting and vote by mail gives voters more ways to make sure their voices are heard.

Not everyone has a driver license, and state ID requirements can prevent people from voting. This legislation would increase voting access through expanding what types of IDs voters can use at the polls.

Working Americans and those who need support to get to the polls need as much time as possible to vote. Making Election Day a holiday will lower the barriers to voting.

In 2020, low income neighborhoods had the longest waits to vote. The longer a voter waits, the less likely they’ll make it to cast their vote. We need working people’s voices at the polls and the Freedom to Vote Act would require short lines no matter what community you’re in.
