Being in Kyiv, Bucharest, Jakarta, & Istanbul, much poorer places than New York City, makes you realize just how unnecessarily dysfunctional NYC is.
NYC is more expensive & violent, nastier, & less communal & less equal, but on the plus side, you can buy great washing machines
