Just as there were multiple coup memos, coup PowerPoints, coup conference calls, coup letters, coup meetings and coup firings, I believe that what we'll learn is that there were multiple active coup plots.
And these coup plots all influenced each other.
We had the Dueling Electors Coup led by Rudy Giuliani.
This focused on corruptly using state legislatures to send fraudulent Trump Electors to Congress with the aim to keep Trump in power through a vote by state delegation in the House. (Not that it would have worked.)
Then we had the other group of coup plotters that worked together with the first group but had a different plan to hold on to power:
This includes but is not limited to using the military or national guard to seize voting machines and declare martial law.
Both these groups promoted the Big Lie, made various reports purporting "voter fraud" sought to corruptly influence Members of Congress, made coup memos, used the court system and sought to influence the general public to their advantage.
Both these groups were close to Trump and worked with Trump directly in various ways.
The Dueling Elector Plot or the #GreenBaySweep was the one advanced by Trump.
But we can't know what Trump discussed with Flynn simultaneously.
What we do know is that "the mob" would be a central part to any and all coup plots.
And all coup plotters did their very best to get the mob to the Capitol.
The plot led by Giuliani, Bannon and Navarro focused on corrupt and criminal ways to hold onto power. Not per definition in a violent way. Not shying away from it either.
Flynn's group was more radical and had close ties to militia/shady groups.
Flynn's group consisted of military trained individuals. They used this training and experience to advance their goals. They criminally unleashed it on the American people. And they should be held to account for that.
As an example: Patrick Byrne, partner of Flynn, released this document shortly before the insurrection.
It gave three options for relief. One of them was Civil War.
Coincidence? I think not. Others in their group shared it too.
The reason why Mark Meadows was happy to share Phil Waldron's coup PowerPoint was that it came from Coup plotters group 2: Group Flynn.
Meadows does not appear to be a big part of that. But he certainly was part of Rudy's group.
Another coup plot would be one headed by Stewart Rhodes and his Oath Keepers. This focused on pure violence to advance their goal.
It appears his group did not work in a vacuum.
We know Stewart met with leaders of other groups the day before the insurrection. One of them was Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys.
Flynn had ties with these groups.
But so had one of Trump's trusted top lieutenants: Roger Stone.
Tarrio was spotted at the White House at some point prior to 1/6, but the exact circumstances are still murky.
A lot of shady stuff happened at DOJ.
I tend to believe Barr was fired and was allowed to draft a resignation letter to save face.
And then there was the story of Jeffrey Clark.
None of that is good.
Let Navarro tell you that story.
Other plans include DoD, National Guard, the Secret Service...
@SethAbramson has a lot of good articles on that too.
Since there are so many angles to this and so many actors, things get complicated real fast.
But I do think, in the coming months, we'll learn more and more details. We still need more answers.
