hi I am making a thread about the moon/sun symbolism between kiwi and miriam wandersong at 3:40 am while i rest my wrist in between comm drawing and also cause no one is here to stop me

very obvious color palette for miriams house, but also purple and blue background cause miriam!!!!!!!

small thing but act 4 has miriam standing outside the factory at high noon which is when the sun is highest in the sky (even though its covered by smog but lets not think about that)

act 5 is obviously where it all comes together, the song that plays during this part is the bard and the moon, u could argue "the moon" is miriam but it's just bards theme (plus the moonscape motif)

when they first get to the logging town the loggers only really notice miriam they do not care about kiwi (casually reminds you the entire way to get into the spirit world this chapter is a solar eclipse, think abt it...)

i will give u that this part of act 5 shows them in the moon side for miriam and the sun side for kiwi but i think this was more to highlight that miriams parents and even sapphire herself are most likely from chandeesh

small aside: i love her. (also foreshadowing?)

despite being regularly uh. discriminated against we see miriams true colors the most in the sun chapter, her blowing up a wall, suggesting you steal a flower, it's also the only time we ever see her smile in game. ever. (i mean it's not for a wholesome reason but still.)

after mim escapes jail with you we are treated to more sun imagery plus miriam singing the part of the overseer song she learned in rulle (sun kingdom, there is so much sun symbolism in rulle i dont think i gotta explain that LOL)

shortly after miriams song fails we see the sun set... and the moon comes up! this is obviously to symbolize the journey into mohabumi but i also find it interesting that after the cutscene kiwi is standing Directly under the moon //thinking

mohabumi is where we learn that kiwi can enhance magic spells (almost like how the moon reflects light off the sun???😳😳)

more sun imagery with miriam being the only one speaking in this scene and being annoyed, the clouds are literally miriam colors.

on the boat: moon in the bg when kiwi's the only one on screen lol

small aside: MIRIAM IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN AT THIS SCENE AND WE KNOW AUDREYS ON THE BOAT you cant prove they werent ᵐᵃᵏᶦⁿᵍᵒᵘᵗ Fighting

mohabumi, the city of witches, is where miriam felt the most like an outsider vs kiwi not only enhancing magic earlier but learning a bit of song magic and where it comes from, it's where they shined the most.. including seeing the delphi band too?

i just think its so neat that miriam only acknowledges that she feels at home in delphi, delphi the city with red trees and other humans and not in the moon city of the witches also more sun imagery with miriam before they go to the nexus point

THE FUCKING ECLIPSE look at the POSITIONS THEYRE STANDING IN, THE MOON IS WHERE KIWI IS... RIGHT BEFORE THE CHAPTER WHERE MIRIAM IS NOT PRESENT? CMON.

i love the moonscape so much 1. and 2. the moonscape is where kiwi is able to be carefree, floating around, singing loudly, and they're licherally glowing in the moonscape //UGUU

ok i ran outta screenshots the point being that miriam is the entire reason the story even exists without her interference wandersong would not have even happened shes the one with the ideas, kiwi just follows along and talks to people

they also are extremely empathetic and seem to reflect a lot of ppls emotions when talking to them, LIKE THE MOON ARG-, anyways yeah miriam is fiery and she might be a bit much for people (sun is blinding to look at) while the moon is calm and reflects miriams best qualities...

the solar eclipse is kinda sad cause miriam has fully accepted taking a backseat in this story despite clearly being the reason either of them were getting anywhere LMAO, the moon(kiwi) has completely eclipsed her.. but together they make something beautiful!!!

ok i think i've ranted enough uhmm i will say more if i get any more ideas but uhhh my final thought is:
