Hi, I'm Mari aka (not so) Little Miss Flint. I'm a 14 year old kid from Flint. I'm an activist and philanthropist that focuses on clean water and taking care of the kids in my hometown of Flint #BlackHistoryNow (1/

When I was 6 they changed the water source in my hometown. It caused issues for almost 2 years before they admitted it was the water. We went from being able to use the tap and take bubble baths to having to depend on bottled water #BlackHistoryNow (2/

It seemed like the adults could not figure out how to fix the water. So I decided to try to fix it myself. I started going to marches and protest, and helped to hand out water and supplies. (3/

And we got a chance to go to the congressional hearings of then governor Snyder. Before we left I wrote a letter to President Obama. (4/

A couple months after that call my whole life changed. Turns out President Obama had read my letter, was going to respond, and was coming to Flint...all because of me. After that he authorized $100M to fix the water (5/

When a certain candidate came to town I tried to ask him a question. He stopped for 4 seconds then ran out the door. I never got to ask my question. That photo went viral and turned into a meme. I used that meme to remind people about Flint. (6/

Then when the state decided it was no longer giving out bottled water I stepped up and raised over $250k and gave out over a million bottles of water. (7/

And I didn't stop at just bottled water. Like I said, my heart is with the kids of Flint. When I see a need, I step up to make sure that need is met. (8/

I have given out thousands of fully stuffed backpacks to make sure that every kid is prepared and ready to have an amazing school year. (9/

My annual Christmas event makes sure that no kid in Flint goes without toys at Christmas. I also make sure my events have as much Christmas magic as possible, including a black Santa and reindeer. (10/

I also love assembling easter baskets and throwing Easter egg hunts for the kids here. Anything I can do to make kids smile. (11/

I was able to get Elon to donate to Flint, including computers and a filtration for Flint schools, 600 bikes for my birthday, and I got to bring him to school for show and tell. (12/

But the one thing I am most proud about is I walked away from single use plastic, partnered with an amazing company (hyrdroviv) and now have my own filter that I ship coast to coast because Americia has a water crisis and we can't wait for the government to fix it.

(13/

Did I mention I have raised over $600k for my filter so far, and my goal for this year is a million dollars. Nobody should have to wait for the government to fix their water when their health and well being is on the line.

We shop year long for events to make sure we are able to get the best deals and help even more kids. For example we started shopping for Easter baskets and Christmas 2022 last month. Donations here go towards that year round prep.

And although it seems like all I do is activism, I am still very much a normal teen. I'm a freshmen in high school, LOVE to cheer and skateboard, and I love watching anime and drawing. (16/

I am living proof that it doesn't matter how old, or how young you are. You can change the world if you put your heart to it and are willing to put in the work. And I'm not saying it will be easy, not everyone is going to support you, but thats ok. (17/
