Since early January 2022 the UK was the first to send defensive weapons to the Ukraine and troops to help train Ukrainians use the equipment.

Whilst the UK was sending defensive weapon for weeks. EU countries weren’t so keen. Germany refused to send defensive weapon, sending only an insulting 5K of helmets.

Ukrainian ambassador to the UK was not happy.
Latvias Deputy PM also blasts continental Europe for lack of action. Praising Britain and some other European countries that did help.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister also Blasts those buying Oil and Gas, accusing them of funding Putins war machine.
The UK was calling from Russia to be kicked out of Swift. Yet, Germany, Italy, and Hungary refused, only doing so now because of the pressure from other allies.

Tusk wasn’t happy.
Still some EU members are reluctant to help Ukraine defend themselves.
Despite what some might say. The Ukraine has been nothing but complimentary of the UKs help and response.
