The United States has hatched a plan to get rid of Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan.
That attempt FAILED today.
This was going to happen via a no-confidence vote. Instead, the vote was declared unconstitutional, and Khan announced snap elections within 90 days.
The US don't want someone like Khan in power because he hasn't been playing ball.
-The day the war started, instead of sanctioning Russia and falling in line behind US/EU he went and bought gas from 🇷🇺
-He criticized the War on Terror and how scores of Pakistanis were killed
When the EU sent Khan a letter, pushing him to condemn Russia he said "Are we your slaves to follow your orders?"
Pakistan is of course a vital, strategic partner. It's a nuclear power, and a key player in the emergence of a stronger Asia (along with China, India, Russia).
The West wants to control Pakistan's foreign policy. Khan is showing that this is not going to fly with him or Asia.
China has come out and said that it supports Pakistan's sovereignty; signalling to the US that they're not going to allow a coup in their backyard without repercussions
Pakistani FM Qureshi received a message from the Chinese foreign minister that "China has always protected Pakistan’s sovereignty & territorial integrity and will continue to do so,”
