I do want to clarify something I said: Parents absolutely DO have standing & power to fight for their kids against this onslaught of “affirm only” treatment—legally if necessary. But when those kids become legal adults, that power is much diminished. This is where…
Detrans/desisted adults have the power & standing (legal & otherwise) to push back, as many now are. I mentioned @genspect in the interview; that’s where parents and detrans people (along with other supportive adults) are uniting to make change together. Much respect to them all.

And here, as I talked about last night, is Dr. Jo Olson-Kennedy in 2015, discussing the same practice at her LA clinic. The most radical “affirming” clinicians seem to believe hormones are the solution for almost any troubled minor who requests them.

For boys, a quick google will provide you with businesses selling cute “tucking underwear” for concealing male genitalia. LA Children’s Hospital has tips on their website. No duct tape!
A thriving Etsy shop. Sizes down to XS (US size 2, a small child). Recent (Feb 2022) rave reviews from moms with happily tucking “daughters.”

How many moms are making these purchases? Who knows, but there are hundreds upon hundreds of posts in parent Facebook groups discussing the intricacies of pediatric tucking.
The most important takeaway from my convo with @BenjaminABoyce is the institutional capture at the highest levels of the US federal government by child/adolescent transition ideologues.
And that institutional capture extends across many agencies of the executive branch—Depts of Education and Justice, Health & Human Services, Centers for Disease Control, and?
It’s up to the other two branches to put some brakes on.
But will they?
