Last week I attended a *superb* event hosted by @genspect called TRANS: A Closer Look, a symposium for colleges. I was unable to stay for the entire presentation, but what I took away from it needs to be shared, especially with parents.1/
First, here are some slides related to the evolution of treatment for gender dysphoria. So if anyone tries to tell you this is how it was always done, that is false. Demand evidence in support of the rebranding, esp. b/c of the politicization of it...2/
Where did the "Affirmative Model" come from, and what is the background on the current ROGD crisis:
/3
#FACTS you need on gender dysphoria, facts the Biden Administration demands be hidden from you, so the media assiduously hides them, and then K12 education acts in opposition to them (whether it's intention on all their parts or not, I cannot say; could be ignorance). 4/
More #FACTS about gender dysphoria parents need to know. This is also why we MUST, if the goal is "DO NO HARM," demand (in the strongest terms, litigiously and legislatively), there. be protections for MINOR children against the current "Affirmative" model. 5/
Still more facts, with some brain-science coming your way too. Please, I beg of you all, digest this, share it, encourage more skepticism and questioning of what's going on! Children with ADHD and ASD are at highest risk, as are pre-gay kids. 6/
More brain science. Those of you with teenage kids who've ever said it's like riding a roller-coaster every day, for about 8 years? Well that's b/c it is literally what's going on in their brains. You think this is a good time to make permanent decisions? 👇7/
I'll leave you with these final slides. There were. more speakers, but I had to go do my live show, and hope to watch the parts I missed when the recording is available. Obviously I can't give you the wisdom of the speakers in just these slides, but I hope...8/
you're inspired to learn more, dig deeper, challenge narratives and policies, and support the work @genspect is doing to educate, and promote rational approaches to helping kids and young adults get the help they need as *unique individuals!* /END
