Her appearance was sudden. Who could have expected it? Out of nowhere, a random woman had appeared. She had descended from the sky like some sort of angel, her eyes closed and lips curled in a serene grin. How were they supposed to react?
The answer was with fear.
Moments passed after her feet daintily touched the earth, the deafening still silence hanging in the air. Until, suddenly…
BOOOOOM
…An explosion sounded as the woman vanished, leaving in her spot a cloud of dust surrounding a deep crater.
Confused onlookers turned, only to see an unexpected sight. The woman had made her way into their crowd, casually holding a large man aloft by his neck. The man flailed his arms, grunting as he attempted to take in a breath to no avail.
Her slender fingers tightened, crushing his windpipe mercilessly. He gagged in pain, but her serene expression didn’t change at all. Her placid smile remained as ever present as the moment she had appeared as she slammed the man into the earth.
The crackle of his bones was sickening. The crowd watched in horror as an effortless motion smashed him into the ground, wounds forming in his flesh as shards of his white bones jutted out of his flesh at random angles His organs had been reduced to a fine pulp by the impact.
Somehow, the man hung onto consciousness, opening his mouth in an attempt to plead for his life. His attempt was quickly foiled as a mixture of blood and bile filled his throat, his wet coughs echoing around the city as he desperately tried to bring air into his broken lungs.
She was not content to leave him with this assured death. Her bare foot rose into the air, the slender toned leg hanging over his head like a guillotine. A moment passed as the crowd held their breath, still unable to believe what they were seeing.
The moment her foot slammed through his skull like a porcelain bowl was the moment where reality set in. Screams ran out as chunks of his brain shot everywhere, the brutal carnage leaving everyone utterly horrified. Some tried to run, but it was futile.
The speed of the mysterious woman was unparalleled as she destroyed the foundations of four nearby buildings, the structures falling to form a cage of rubble around the busy intersection. Some attempted to climb over the barriers, but they were quickly reduced to a fine red mist.
She shook her arm off casually, as though she hadn’t just unleashed a punch powerful enough to decimate several men from the air force alone. Her demeanor made it seem like this was nothing but utter mundanity. Finally, she spoke the first words since she had landed.
“Hello insects. My name is Azura. You should be honored to know I’ve chosen this world to serve as my stress relief for today. Now, be good toys for your Goddess, will you?”
Nobody responded. How could anyone expect them to? Goddess? World? Insects? This was all utter insanity.
Unfortunately, Azura didn’t seem to consider their confusion any reason to stop. Before anyone could regain their bearings, she had grabbed onto an innocent woman and thrown her into a man, the two victims merging into a bloody heap of limbs and organs.
Chaos took over at this point. Everyone was panicking as the demonic dancer ripped through person after person, mercilessly demolishing them. Blood stained the concrete as the bodies piled on top of each other, targets chosen at seemingly random.
One particular man succeeded in slipping through the rubble. He ran forwards, tears in his eyes as he prayed that he had escaped Azura’s notice. He, of course, hadn’t. In the blink of an eye she was in front of him, staring at him with mock disapproval.
“Trying to run away? Well, we can’t have that~!” She said as her leg reeled back, slamming into his chest with a brutal snap. Her bare foot tore through his ribs like tissue paper as his body crumpled in on itself before soaring into the air from the force of the kick.
He landed with his back against the remains of a building. His vision was blurred from tears, his head was perpetually tilted to the side from his broken neck, his heart was beating at an erratic rate… He was going to die, and there was nothing he or anyone could do to stop it.
Azura walked up to him, his eyes focusing on the final thing they’d ever see. She was utterly gorgeous despite the circumstances. Her blue and white garb was drenched in thick red gore as her long hair flowed behind her, pieces of rubble caught in the strands.
He was unable to do anything as her hands grabbed onto his shoulders, the sharp nails digging into his flesh. He couldn’t do anything but stare forwards as she opened her mouth wide. He couldn’t do anything as his head was pulled into the musty damp jaws. He couldn’t do anythi-
CRCHRUNCH
Azura’s jaws tore through the skull of the man she had been chasing without resistance. She pulled back her head, moaning a bit at the taste. No matter how many times she experienced it, the taste of humans never failed to impress.
This one had a tangy taste, synergising with the meaty nature of his brain. Combined with the crunch of his skull and the juicy blood, it all came together to a transcendent meal. Drool dripped down her chin as she went in for another bite, tearing off the rest of his head.
His headless body hung limp in her grasp as she chewed at the second bite, savoring the taste. She tossed aside the remains, not caring to eat a meal that wasn’t alive. Chomping away at something that was still entirely sentient was just unmatched.
Azura felt a tug on her body, a familiar sign. She had intentionally limited her time - there were important things to get back to at Valla, but this reprieve had been very enjoyable. With a grin she slammed her foot down onto the earth harder than ever, sending a fissure out.
Content in the knowledge that she had sufficiently doomed this world. Azura cast a warp spell on herself, rocketing away from the planet whose fate had been written. She didn’t stick around to watch as lava erupted from the crack. It wasn’t anything new to her.
The planet would be quickly forgotten as Azura turned her attention to more important things. Billions of lives were a fair price to pay for a few minutes of entertainment in her eyes, and anyone who would disagree wouldn’t live long.
