It’s almost the last chance for parliamentarians to make our asylum system more compassionate.
But as it stands, the changes they’ve proposed could have devastating consequences for people seeking safety.
These changes all come under the Nationality and Borders Bill.
One of them includes treating people differently based on the way they arrived in the UK, without taking into account the dangers they may have fled.
If your life is at risk and you’re fleeing your home, it’s not always possible to grab your passport, or any other official document.
The proposed changes could leave people without access to vital support.
They could even be penalised – simply for the way they tried to get themselves and their loved ones to a safe place.
UK parliamentarians are debating these changes, that will become law, for the very last time over the next week.
We are calling on them to create a system built on compassion and fairness.
We need you to stand with us as we proudly say: we believe #EveryRefugeeMatters.
There are plenty of ways you can show your support.
