Cllr Biddolph’s latest blog on @ChiswickW4 contains several of those 'inadvertently misleading' statements that we've all got so used to under Johnson's leadership. For some of us the truth still matters
A thread 🧵
1/Cllr Biddolph says Labour "wants to demolish the row of single storey shops" on Turnham Gn Terr.
Fact: These shops are privately owned, LBH hasn't the power. Could this just be more scare tactics? Like she uses to fight against everything - markets, cycle lanes, tree planting
2/ Cllr Biddolph says TGT design is to be revisited. Is it "safe from closure? Nope."
Fact: Closure is not on the table, improvement is. Look at this mess of old phone boxes, signage, bike racks, A boards, delivery parking, traffic queues. It's a disabled person's nightmare.
3/ She threatens Devonshire Rd might be reviewed.
Fact: Cllr Biddolph won her case last year, transforming DR from a thriving shopping & dining street (left) to the current traffic & parking-dominated sterile tumbleweed (right). She owns this result.
4/ Residents vs the council: "we moved here because we liked it". She constantly says Hounslow is remote.
Fact: Cllr Biddolph lives on the N Circular, her fellow Conservative candidates live in central Hounslow, a 20 minute drive away (as does the main Labour candidate).
5/ The council shd publish casework figures.
Yes, they should: Cllr Todd way ahead on 400+ cases. Curran & Biddolph busy. Gill, Mushiso, Khan respectable. Barr (who he?) & Oppo Leader McGregor very poor around 40.
Denniss & Giles at the bottom with a woeful 6 & 28 each.
6/Biddolph lists Tory successes: stopping CS9, reopening temp closure of TGT, reopening Dev Rd & Fishers Lane, saving Gunnersbury Pk Bowls, calling no confidence motions, fighting flytipping...
Fact: These are the successes? Sound more like fails

7/ Cllr Biddolph's says "Chiswick residents are very engaged" while the west of LBH happily "live in very different circumstances" (surrounded by "flytipping, graffiti, dumped...waste").
Fact: Fixmystreet shows 11 open reports in Chiswick, 64 for rest of the borough.
8/ Is Cllr Biddolph insinuating in the rest of LBH people are dirtier than in Chiswick? She has since clarified she only meant "if a resident doesn't speak English or doesn't have a computer, it's hard to report fly tipping". Poor patronised foreigners - & yet they report more.
9/ And let’s not forget #Cherrygate (a costly 2yr battle against community tree planting), Biddolph’s interview with Putin-funded RT News, her months of lonely patrols waving her banner outside M&S, her refusal to compromise on anything, meaning TfL had no partner for dialogue...
10/ ... her disciplinary by the Hounslow Governance lawyer for endangering the safety of her fellow councillors, her "lack of clarity" over her conflict of interest declaration that she is definitely not a member of One Chiswick though screenshots seem to tell a different tale
11/ Chiswick needs hardworking councillors who can bring the community together & work positively to achieve the kind of changes we need to address our many challenges, environmental & societal. It does not need the kind of endless divisions & rancour offered by @JoannaBiddolph
