/ Did you know that rigorous, evidence-based methodology underpins the development of @JBIEBHC’s unique evidence-based resources to assist clinicians in their clinical decision-making and practice at the point of care? Learn how in the below #tweetorial for #JBIMethodology month

/ Evidence Summaries and Recommended Practices sit within the JBI EBP Database available via @ovid_wkhealth. Specialty field experts from across the globe follow a rigorous editorial process to develop these resources jbi-global-wiki.refined.site/space/JED/4555…

/@JBIEBHC Evidence Summaries are a comprehensive, concise overview of the best available evidence for specific care practices. Driven by a clinical question, a structured approach to searching, selecting, appraising and summarizing evidence is followed.

/ Topics for a JBI Evidence Summary are identified by 1) gaps in the taxonomy 2) new/updated research 3) clinical requests from a clinician 4) requests from contributing group members. Can’t find what you are looking for? Topics can be submitted and placed in our repository.

/ A structured search of relevant databases is undertaken to find the best available evidence to answer the clinical question. This includes #SystematicReviews & evidence-based guidelines, however other evidence (eg expert opinion) is included if no research evidence is found.

/ Quality assessment is undertaken on all included studies and a technical development report outlines the methods undertaken.

/Unique to JBI Evidence Summaries are ‘Best Practice Recommendations’, which are directive statements that operationalize or guide practice informed by the evidence presented in the summary. Each recommendation is rated using the JBI Grades of Recommendations.

/ International #stakeholderengagement assures the development and update of resources. Working closely with a JBI Field Editor, global JBI Field Collaborators and Scientific Writers contribute to and enhance the quality of evidence-based resources within their specialty field.

/ We are currently undertaking a #scopingreview to identify and map the evidence related to Evidence Summary methodologies and indictors of quality. journals.lww.com/jbisrir/Fullte…

/ Preliminary findings suggest a lack of consistency in how Evidence Summaries are defined, structured & developed. Our vision is to develop an international, standardized approach underpinned by evidence-based methodology to address this gap. Stay tuned!
