It's only surface waters that are becoming slightly less caustic — and they are the MOST caustic part of the ocean. We're just making ocean pH very slightly more equable. The effect is both minuscule & benign.

There's 500× as much oxygen in the air as CO2. Replacing 0.065% of O2 with CO2 is a GOOD thing. The 0.065% reduction in O2 is completely harmless for fauna, but the 48% increase on CO2 is hugely beneficial for flora.
