10 Weird Disruptive Phobias, You've likely Not Heard Of.

1. Philophobia: Fear Of Love

Derived from a Greek word "Philos" Loving and "Phobos" fear.
Here, a person avoids getting in a relationship coupled the fear of not being able to maintain one, caused by the emotional breakdowns in the past.
This is the saddest of all.

When the fear is intense, they find it difficult to have any emotional connection, they feel distant and afraid of potential romantic partner. This often leads to impotence in males.

2. Atelophobia:
This is an obsessive fear of imperfections, fear of making mistakes, not being good enough. This subconscious fear manifest overtime and people with this often find it difficult to accomplish tasks, build healthy relationships.

However, while some with this phobia might be frenzy in achieving their goals, some might be self critical, they may not even meet the hight standards they've set for themselves which may prompt them to choose simple careers so they won't have to bother about being the best

3. Claustrophobia: This is derived from a Latin word "claustrum" closed-in place and "Phobos"which means fear.
Hence, it is the fear of confined places, which causes uncomfortable feelings. It is said to be linked to traumas or environment.

4. Acrophobia: "acron" a Greek word meaning height and "phobos" fear. Simply put, it is an extreme fear of height which grows in response to traumatic experiences involving heights. If a person has this, merely thinking about height may cause panic attack.

5. Achluophobia:
In Greek, Achluo means to darken. Thus, Achluophobia means fear of dark. This fear is common among children, which sometimes causes changes in physical conditions like sweating, problems in breathing etc. Emotionally, it causes detachment from self, feeling dead.

6. Cacophobia:
This is the excessive and unjustified fear of ugliness, the fear of becoming ugly, ugly people, object and any situation perceived as ugly.

7. Gamophobia: Fear of marriage

In Greek, "Gamos" means marriage. Thus, this is the fear of marriage or commitment, probably caused by past experiences, witnessing parent difficult relationships, avoidance to walk in line with one's parent conflicting footsteps.

8. Hemophobia: Fear of blood

This is one of the extreme phobias which involves the fear of blood or undergoing some certain medical procedures involving blood. Sometimes, people with this phobia often pass out at the sight of blood.

9. Lockiophobia: Fear of Childbirth

Also known as Tokophobia, this is the fear of pregnancy, which often lead to avoidance of Childbirth.

10. Phobophobia: Fear of fear

This is the fear of something that is unlikely to cause harm, simply put, this is the fear of all phobias.
Research has shown that people with this phobia would become anxious and fearful at the thought of tense situations.
