Welcome to my new followers who joined me on #IND2022 ... and welcome back to my existing followers!

You might be asking "What does a CNIO do?"

(A mini thread)🧵

Good question! A CNIO is a senior nursing position which specialises in digital technologies.

You could say it bridges the gap between the nurse and technical teams.

The CNIO will provide expertise of what nurses actually need...

...but will also work with the IT teams to consult, reach out, and support the digital changes that impact the nurse on the ward.

As a CNIO they will be in touch with the various developments that are going on in the digital transformation space getting information and support from the national team and/or their regional CNIO.

It's worth noting - it's an emerging role, and depending on the unique nature of the organisation a CNIO may have additional hats such as clinical safety.

Therefore - if you ask one CNIO what they do, another might tell you something a little bit different!

I appreciate I've only given some of the highlights...

To understand the diverse nature of this role and see how to get into digital nursing I recommend reading this post 'IND 2022: Digital Nursing & the role of the CNIO' 👇
