A quick thread about the @okaybears brand, the founder @powerofpixel, a personal story about a hard time in my 20’s, and why #WAGBO is a seismic shift in NFT brands today...

1. I recently listened to Kais (co-founder) speak in a twitter spaces a few days ago. Wow, what a breath of fresh air. U can tell he genuinely wants to do good in the world, especially in our little NFT bubble - a place that's recently been filled with mounting toxicity.
2. Forget the scammers and thieves. Those cockroaches have sealed their own fate a long time ago.
I'm talking about the every day people who’ve turned bitter and sour as promises of “life changing wealth” were shilled to them over and over.
And believe me, I get it.
3. Having just entered crypto in 2021, it was a forgone conclusion that BTC was hitting 100k. Remember that?? It was a given. All u had to do was remember to take out your initial profits after 5x...Womp womp. Shillers sold the dream and bounced, leaving us holding the bags...
4. But along comes Kais... No over promises. No delusions of grandeur. Just a soft-spoken, intelligent dad who believes we can all do a little good in the world by reminding everyone, and ourselves that while things aren’t necessarily great, they are gonna be OK.
5. Reminds me of a book I read when I was struggling with anxiety and depression in my early 20s. It was called “I’m OK, you’re OK” by Thomas A Harris. Don’t think I even made it past the first chapter I was in such a bad place. But I remembered the title and the powerful message
6. In essence, just chill - it’s OK. I’m OK. The other person is OK. Everything is OK. Damn right.
During that time, shit got so dark that I really didn’t think I was EVER “gonna be okay”. Now, I have a beautiful wife, 2 AMAZING little boys, I own 3 houses, have made a decent -
7. living for myself. Things are far from perfect. But they’re actually pretty okay. And that’s ok by me 😎
Coming from over 15 years in media/marketing, working with some of the larges brands in the world, OKB's have a brand profile that is unique and desperately needed today.
8. We'd always talk to our customers about how we could help them “steal share” from their competitors - Not Okay Bears. I don’t think these guys could steal anything if they tried lol. And I fucking love that about them.
9. That's why I fully believe that if the bears community sticks to the message of WAGBO, regardless of what’s happening around us, we really are all gonna be okay.
10. So, while everyone is caught up in floor prices and sales, etc. I’d like to remind you of how early we are to web3 brands being a thing. Zoom out. This is a marathon not a sprint. Bears have something truly special. Just chill, hodl, and you’ll be OKAY! I really believe that.
