#WNBATwitter! We back with Week 3 of WNBA Film Sesh. Last week was week 2, but you know Twitter doesn't have an edit feature. I ain't perfect. Anyways, this week - I'm showing love to our post players in the W! We must protect them at all cost. 🥰

WNBA Film Sesh:

1. Post Play + Passing
2. Off-Ball Screens + Screen Angles
3. Speed + Direction Manipulation
4. Off-ball Movement
5. Two Feet Finishes + End of Penetration Control

1. Post Play + Passing

Great post players all have patience, ability to manipulate ANGLES, and ability to use both hands. The deeper the positioning, the better. Do your work early!!

2. Off-ball Screens

Off-ball screens are a multi-player interaction. While one player has to find a body, it’s important for the other to show patience and wait for screens to be set. ATL Dream has done a great job at integrating their rookie, Rhyne Howard.

3. Speed and Direction Manipulation

As @kimrosamond would always tell me, “JJ, if you can change speeds, you can change the game.”

Players that go one speed, in one direction are easy to guard. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Manipulate your cadence and angles.

4. Off-ball Movement

Some players believe that they have to be a ball-dominant player in order to get “theirs”. You can create gravity and advantages by simply cutting in to space with PACE and taking advantage of sleepy defenders.

5. Two Feet Finishes + End of Penetration Control

A weekly staple because I’m tired of seeing one foot take-offs and jump passes that lead to runout layups going the other way.
