Youtube right now doesn't have a specific page for livestreaming, so you can't gain recognition from livestream alone, unlike twitch.
You have to upload videos/shorts until your stream/video get recommended by youtube algorithm.
If your browse features/shorts feed percentage is higher than other stats, that means youtube is recommending your video.
The recommendation feature usually last for 1 week, after that there will be a thing called 'flat stats', that means youtube is no longer recommending ur vid.
(1/2) Watchtime = how many minutes/hours your viewers watch your video.
Audience retention = how many viewers stay until the end. Low retention means many of your viewers skipped / left your video.
(2/2) Don't underestimate title&description (keywords) . Youtube has a system called SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
For example, a clip titled "Ame can't stop watching Gura's TikTok" youtube instantly recognize and recommend that to people who like gura+ame = vtuber and tiktok.
More upload = more channel watchtime = more of your video will getting recommended. For vtubers, you could upload like a very short clip, or highlight of your stream, or random video, etc.
Make sure that your video is engaging, so people would watch your video till the end.
Even if you did all of that, YT only recommend (more or less) 4 of your 10 videos. So the solution is to keep grinding until your video get recommended.
If one of your video is getting recommended, make sure to leave a good impression to new viewers, like reply to their comments.
Twitter, TikTok, and Discord are good for vtubers and clippers. Twitter and Discord to interact with the community, TikTok to upload your clip so that they would come to your channel.
Youtube Algorithm would only help you to get recognition and impression. Your livestream is your ultimate and main weapon.
Last but not least, make sure to have fun 😊 Good luck and enjoy the process. Take every stream/video as your lesson to be better every time.
Ask me anything that you'd like to know 😊
