In a strange turn of event's - I have $SU news that is not shade!

Suncor filed a so crazy it just might work (probably not though) kinda plan with the AER.

Lets look at it together!

$SU is proposing a project called #HOLLER - Heavy Oil Late Life Energy Recovery at MacKay River

So what is $SU's plan for #HOLLER,

It is not about oil recovery!

It is about stripping thermal energy out of the formation after all the oil gold rush is gone

So the plan is to use tailing water from base plant, and to inject it down the injector wells of these two well pairs. at the rate of 650-1000 cubes a day per well and produce the heated water via the existing producer. $SU #HOLLER

At this point $SU will just record data from the water and truck it back to base plant, but if #HOLLER works it could recover some of the thermal energy in the formation. that could go to supplement steam gen for newer pads or other uses.

I can already hear the truck drivers talking about how dumb this is, I would not agree but if I were in the field - ya I might think this is stupid. $SU #HOLLER

I just did a quick patent search and it does not appear $SU has filed anything in this area - which is fine we are all about sharing tech

All wells have a lot of variance - but it is staggering how good we have gotten at drilling SAGD wells in the past 20 years.

These have been in operation for 20 years and have only made 2.3 mmbbls between them.

It took a lot of blood, sweet and capital to get good at this. $SU

Weirdly $SU's own site says this is also about disposal of tailings.

Hum... $SU speaking out of both sides of their mouth?

$SU to AER - we will produce almost all the water back

$SU to sustainable investors - this helps solve the tailings problem.
