So, this has been making the rounds recently and its said to have been published in the Nation Newspaper. As an OBIdient, I have decided to go and verify. The following thread will debunk most of these claims as misleading and comical. /1

3.ECONOMY: What policies did Tinubu initiate that lead to over 1000% increase? The explanation given seem to suggest he found ways to capture more people in the state tax net. The more important question is how did this increase in IGR affected the everyday Lagosian? /5

4.HEALTH: This is really laughable. It is basically scrapping an empty barrel. Not one hospital construction or installing state of the art equipment. /6

5. INFRASTRUCTURE: Is this a joke? Since when did Roadmaps become achievement? Only in Tinubu’s Lagos. Even the worst governor in Nigeria should be able to point to a few roads they constructed. /7

.... Someone who has done a good job should be able to state how many kilometers of road he constructed. How it compares with the national average, and the impact on traffic congestion. /8

6.INVESTMENT: If because of him many companies have moved to the Lekki Free Trade Zone, I wonder why a US consulate is included in that list. More so, this consulate referred to here only started construction in 2022 and won’t be completed till 2027? /9

So basically, after all the wonderful investment by Tinubu almost 20 years ago, the biggest achievement is the presence of a US consulate which is yet to open. Also, isn’t Sanwo-Olu the Governor of Lagos? /10

7.HOUSING: 500 units of housing yearly! Really? For a state with over 20 million people? I will simply provide you an excerpt from the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) policy brief in 2012. /11

9.SECURITY: In 2019, the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) ranked Lagos as the most dangerous city in the world to live in. His effort clearly didn’t have an effect. /14

10.ENVIRONMENT: LAWMA was created in 1991 (a quick google would have informed you). LASEPA was created in 1996. LAGBUS was introduced by Fashola in 2007. LASWA was established in 2008. Basically, Tinubu did not create one of the agencies listed. This is embarrassing. /15

11.EMPOWERMENT SCHEMES: It is obvious at this point that he can’t take credit for this since the argument is built on the agencies he supposedly established in point 10. /16

In summary, the argument for Tinubu published in The Nation newspaper is mere propaganda and lacking merit. It is based on deceit and misleading information. It only exposed his failures as a governor if you bother to do a little research. /17
