The search for something for our clinic landed me in the heart of Ravivar Peth!

Any true blue Pune 4 native has his roots in the original Pune aka “The city area” or Pune 30!

A thread of what was meant to be a 30 mins visit which turned into a 3 hour walk!

Enjoy…….

Small narrow by lanes with chock a block shops doing brisk business but run down houses above which are but a mere shadow of their glorious past!

A common theme you will see often in this thread…

Beautiful architecture…….

A daily wage labourer resting his tired limbs after a hard day of physical work!

Ropes, ropes and more ropes!

Ganpati Bappa Moraya……

So many amazing temples seen……

So many different forms of everyone’s beloved “Ganpati Bappa” also captured…..

#GanpatiBappaMoraya

Bustling shops below and shut down houses above…….

The Original Mohan Ice Cream-apparently the inventor of “Gulkand Ice Cream!”

Always warms my heart to see a small store aka Mom and Pop store and friends sitting with the owner chatting away-the original FaceBook!

All along the temple just pulled me there……

विठ्ठलं विठ्ठलं……

As I said, the temples just kept pulling at me……

Without planning or realising it, I found myself at the King of Kings: Dagdusheth!!!!

Was lucky to reach just before the “Aarti”

What an apt name for this hole in the wall eatery right across from Dagdusheth-talk about being recession proof!

Loved the lamp post down the road-so beautifully designed!

Saw a tailor working away at his craft! He said his store has been there for 75 years-3 generations!

One of the most fascinating sights when you walk around in the city are the boards with “year of establishment”.-1893, 1848 etc.

Gives you an insight into how old this part of Pune is! As I said this was Pune back in the day!

Imagine-Deccan Gymkhana was “out of town”!

If I made it all the way to “Dagdusheth”, how could I not go to the “श्री दत्त मंदिर” and Kaka Halwai flagship shop!

Again reached just before the “Aarti”

Few more pics of old beautiful architecture…

Does the last picture remind people of any other iconic building?

As I was about to head back home, I found myself on the one and only “Laxmi Road”!

Too many pics to add here so will post a separate thread later……
