#Esperanto words for "furry" lol š§µ
retĀ“bestĀ“igĀ“ulĀ“o
retbestigulo
a person who becomes an animal on the internet
This word has many benefits. A furry convention is a:
retbestigulĀ“arĀ“egĀ“o
retbestigularego
"a big group of people who become animals online"
One benefit is non-exclusion of scalies
Another benefit is easy relationship to the word:
bestigulo ā otherkin / therian
"becomes-an-animal person"
A popufur is a
retbestigulĀ“estrĀ“isto
"a person for whom being a leader of furries is a job"
The furry fandom is the "ÄiuĀ“retbestigularo" ("all the online animal people"), while the concept of furry is "retbestigeco" ("state of becoming an animal online").
If you need to differentiate scalies and furries use:
"retĀ“reptiliaĀ“igulo" ā "specifically online animal people that are reptiles"
"retĀ“mamulaĀ“igulo" ā "specifically online animal people that are mammals"
The best thing about this word derivation is each species is a word.
"retlupigulo" ā online becomes-wolf person (lupĀ“)
"retkatigulo" ā " " cat " (katĀ“)
And mine:
"retlavursigulo" ā " " raccoon " (lavursĀ“)
"retkunikligulo" ā " " rabbit " (kuniklĀ“)
NB: " = ditto
I have one more linguistic trick.
By removing the "-ig-" (become) suffix you can make words referring to the characters and not the people who are them in a sense.
So a "retlavursulo" is a word for "an online raccoon character", while "retlavursigulo" "a person that becomes a raccoon character online".
And "retbestulo" is the generic for "furry character".
I suggest using "kvazaÅbestulo" not as I originally suggested, but as a group noun including furries, otherkin, therians, multiple systems where one is a furry, etc.
