Side story following after Passion (main) and Diaphonic Symphonia
main plot IMO: ilay's having nightmare over what happened at the end of DS. The asian branch of UNHRDO is unlucky enough to witness him dealing with it in real time lol
actual plot:
-while ilay was away, tae got a call from jae, telling him the aunt taking care of their house passed away
-since neither he nor jae had any plan to live there again, they decided to sell the house, and Tae's returning to Korea to take care of it
-during flight transit in Hongkong, Tae got held up
-Uncle Chang-in appears in front of Tae in full uniform
-tae: ...yeah NOPE
-uncle chang-in messed w/ his ticket so that his flight is moved to next month
-uncle uses Jae's name to make him stay as assistant in UNHRDO
-while he's lounging in Uncle's room, a call comes in
-it's ilay
-he's coming to UNHRDO since his target's about to steal Jae's project data saved here
ilay: you're welcome to try to stop me.
tae: ...can i just go away?
uncle: it'd be dangerous to Jae.

-meanwhile tae's former army comrade, Kim Jeongpil, the reason he got discharged, also enlisted as a trainee from Korea alongside Tae's former BFF
-old feelings resurface
-since ilay is registered as trainee this time, he's in perfect position to dig up tae's past lol
TLDR plot:
-uncle uses Tae as a shield to protect an instructor from being targeted by ilay
-tae's mainly just trying to prevent ilay from killing somebody this time
-kim jeongpil making tae's life harder than it is lol
The actual Prologue:
-ilay's chasing someone in the dark, feeling crazied
-he's hunting down a particular prey, knowing full well he was gonna be resented for it by one he cherished
-a gunshot, telling him to stop
-he doesn't
-he's thinking it's ok so long as the prey disappear
-his blade breaking skin, pierce flesh
-corpses all around him
-as he wipes his blade, a light comes, illuminating the prey's figure and the gag, and he realizes why the prey hadn't said a word at all
-his prey isn't his prey
-it's the one person who shouldn't be here at all
-he freezes, eyes wide
-tae's eyelashes move as he blinks, and tears fall
-ilay realizes it's really tae
-he nearly killed the one person he's trying to protect
-just a little more pressure on the blade, and he would've killed him clean
-despite running from him until a while ago, despite the tears & the wounds inflicted by him, tae approaches him, voice worried, saying something about wounds & insides hanging out and hospital
-tae touches him then, and ilay realizes tae's still alive, he didn't killed him
-it's also the moment he snaps out of his daze, realizing tae's fragile mortality
-that this kind of thing could happen any time
-be it bcs of him, the ppl around him, or the things he's involved in
"That was the price of life that he had built up so far."
end prologue
yeah the entire prologue is basically the warehouse scene at the end of DS vol 5 except from Ilay's POV
it's ilay realizing he *himself* is actually the biggest threat to Tae's life 😭
