Highlighting and keeping receipts on post-left (right-wing politics with vaguely leftist aesthetics) pundits and podcasters.

Let's talk about the podcast platform Callin. It is a platform founded by PayPal Mafia member David Sacks, longtime business partner of Peter Thiel. callin.com

Notice the roster of people on it's politics shows. It has a lot of people who are more associated with "leftist" politics, and not many people from any other ideology. Certainly no mainstream progressives.

Trevor Beaulieu, Ben Burgis, Jordan Chariton, Jimmy Dore, Briahna Joy Gray, Glenn Greenwald, Katie Halper, Richard Hanania, Katie Herzog, Eoin Higgins, Abby Martin, Aaron Maté, Ben Norton, Q. Anthony Omene, Jesse Singal, David Sirota, Matt Taibbi, Michael Tracey

Every one of these people have politics that are now mostly defined as being "anti-Democratic Party". With a few exceptions, all of them are also anti-funding for Ukraine and are vocal about hating "cancel culture".

Peter Thiel's longtime partner owns this platform and he has seemingly turned them all into pushing this same ideology, and while most of them didn't start far from this, their turn towards being all anti-Democratic Party is 100% intentional. That's the reason why they were hired

David Sacks and Peter Thiel have worked together for almost 30 years, and they are both right-wing extremists. Why do you think they hired "leftists" for this platform if they are right-wing? To use them to keep people from voting for Democrats.

They don't have to turn left-wing listeners into Republicans. Just keeping them from voting for Democrats is a win for them. It's the same as in 2016, when Russian propaganda targeted Sanders supporters. If they didn't vote for Clinton, that's a win in itself.

This is the basis for the "post-left" ideology. The idea that Democrats aren't going to do what you want, so you shouldn't vote for them and vote for oddball third parties or not vote at all, even if the Democrats interests mostly align with yours. It's also called "blackpilling"

The odd man out in the Callin roster is Eoin Higgins, who spends a lot of time on Twitter either pushing the anti-Democratic Party agenda, or complaining about all of the other Callin podcasters and only them. It seems like a subliminal promotion of the other hosts.

Peter Thiel himself appeared on a Callin podcast. callin.com/episode/peter-…

Besides Briahna Joy Gray and David Sirota, another former Bernie Sanders campaign staff member, Ben Mora, has a show on Callin, which appears to be comedic in nature. He is also a host of the dirtbag left podcast Seeking Derangements.

The various podcasts on the platform have had a number of guests who could also be described as post-left, including Krystal Ball, Ryan Grim, Nina Turner, and Alan MacLeod.

Krystal Ball herself is the host of two post-left podcasts not on Callin: one with post-left figure Kyle Kulinski and one with libertarian Saagar Enjeti. Krystal Kyle & Friends is a podcast with a specific post-left agenda.

They are both disproportionately anti-Democratic Party above any other ideology, and their guests (besides various Callin hosts) have included post-left figures Freddie deBoer, Felix Biederman, Russell Brand, Hasan Piker, Cornel West, Noam Chomsky, and Shoe0nHead.

Shout-out to @themattdimitri who manages to watch Jimmy Dore and Krystal Kyle & Friends and highlight the worst things from it. I do not have the will to do that myself.

Other post-left figures that are adjacent to the aforementioned include Matt and Elizabeth Bruenig, Mark Ames (who worked for Thiel-funded Pando), Max Blumenthal, Chapo Trap House (Felix Biederman, Matt Christman, Will Menaker, Amber A'Lee Frost), and Red Scare (Dasha and Anna).

The most important lesson to take from this thread is that the posts, criticism and insight from all of the people mentioned are not in good faith. They want you to not vote or vote for a goofball third party. This is their intention. Ignore everything they have to say.

Speaking of Felix, he retweeted this. Note the phrasing, which is put in the first-person and worded as if it's replying to someone asking what podcasts they like. It's the same phrasing all of the other hosts use to promote their Callin shows.

They all word their promotions like this.

Look through his timeline, he frequently criticizes Greenwald, Dore, Taibbi, Burgis, Singal, and Gray. All of who happen to have shows on Callin alongside him.

This Vanity Fair article about Peter Thiel's "New Right" is a good read, highlighting various people who went from the non-voting post-left to now voting for Republicans. Red Scare and hosts Anna Khachiyan and Dasha Nekrasova are mentioned. vanityfair.com/news/2022/04/i…

Correction: I meant to take out Katie Herzog in the draft and replace her with Rania Khalek.

Another "leftist" I forgot to mention with a Callin show is Ryan Knight. A few years ago, he was a mainstream progressive, then overnight, became a leftist who did nothing but hate the Democratic Party. Instantly. That doesn't happen without someone giving you a lot of money.

Callin has other podcasts that are not political in nature, covering TV and movies, science, education, sports, dating, fitness, and comedy. And crypto. Thiel is a big crypto person and a few months ago had a big crypto convention in Miami with Greenwald.

The vast majority of these shows have listeners that number in the low 100's at best and are hosted by seemingly random people. Just tons of random endless podcasts and the only recognizable names hosting any are NBA player Andrew Bogut and PUA author Neil Strauss.

One other recognizable name on Callin is Fox "News" "comedian" Tom Shillue. Maybe he and Nick Mullen and Gavin McInnes can reunite on Callin!

It does seem weird to see movie star Russell Brand on this list. He joins other post-left celebrities like Susan Sarandon, Rose McGowan, Oliver Stone, Viggo Mortensen, and rock star Dan Boeckner.

LMFAO, Eoin Higgins blocked me. He must have come across this between this being posted and now. I guess I got a little too close to his secret!

It turns out Thiel and Sacks have worked together since 1987, when they started the right-wing Stanford Review paper at Stanford.

That is from this article, which also goes into David Sacks's funding of the wave of right-wing recall elections in California over the last year. latimes.com/business/techn…

Eoin Higgins blocked me, but he's absolutely shameless in this tweet, criticizing Greenwald for working for Thiel and pretending like they both aren't getting paid from the same source.

In the last two years, it seems like Thiel and Sacks have greatly increased their output of funding right-wing candidates. J.D. Vance and Blake Masters being two Senate candidates both heavily attached to the Thiel network. politico.com/news/2022/05/0…

Sacks and Thiel are also assocated with Trump. forbes.com/sites/ryanmac/…

The anti-supporting Ukraine position most of these people have is also a Sacks position. This article details a recent rightwing conference where the speakers (including Sacks) voiced that position. (Saagar Enjeti is Ball's parter on Breaking Points) theatlantic.com/politics/archi…

Thiel and Sacks are among the people who are personally pushing Elon Musk to purchase and take over Twitter. dailykos.com/stories/2022/4…

Don't install Callin on your phone, it will harvest your data.

Here's another host I overlooked. Peter Daou, who for a long time was a close Clinton adviser. Seemingly overnight he turned into a "leftist" like Ryan Knight and now his posts are the exact same kind of anti-Democratic Party posts the others listed make. callin.com/show/direct-le…

Eoin Higgins and a comedian who seems to exist to make bad viral tweets don't bother to address his ties to Thiel and Sacks.

Cenk Uygur, whose tone changes from day-to-day, calls out the "fake left media" highlighted in this thread. I don't support some of the other things he said there, but I think we know who he's referring to with this statement. mediaite.com/radio/young-tu…

Ro Khanna has close Thiel ties and got into Congress with his help. Khanna appeared on Gray's Bad Faith podcast. He debated Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro, maybe the only major Democrat to do so. He appeared multiple times on Taibbi and Halper's podcast.

Here's another "leftist" show called The Vanguard. Looks to be the exact same as every other post-left show there. callin.com/show/the-vangu…

If Glenn Greenwald is giving you a personal endorsement, it means everyone is getting paid off by Thiel.

Another show: Revolutionary Discourse, which is from a "Black Marxist perspective" but judging from the episode descriptions and it's host's Twitter activity, it's the exact same ground covered as the other shows. callin.com/show/revolutio…

Looks like a template for a new Callin show. If you don't know Historic_ly and Esha Krishnaswamy, it's major tankie shit. callin.com/show/historicl…
