#Tropicswx: It was very problematic for many w/ the 1st being Megi. It generated massive landslides & flooding that killed 200+ people. The current damage toll stands at ₽4.7B. It’s likely both Agaton & Megi will be tossed off the naming list. (2/7)
In South Africa, a deadly flood event occurred from a system that became Issa. Issa is the deadliest TCs in 🇿🇦 history. Most of the impacts occurred in KZN Province where cleanup is still underway to this day. (3/7)
#Severewx: For the 2nd year in a row, GA had a violent tornado w/ an EF4 in Pembroke. That same outbreak spawned 3 EF3s w/ 1 prompting a tornado emergency in Allendale SC. A total of 86 were reported in the outbreak. (4/7)
Other known events included an outbreak in IA on the 12th, Salado, TX’s EF3 that same day, 2 tornado emergencies in AR w/ 1 of them being real, & the Andover KS EF3. At least 204 tornadoes were reported worldwide in April. (5/7)
Otherwx: A massive winter storm tackled the N Plains w/ feet of snow. Nearly 4ft of snow was dumped in some areas. Cities like Billings MT had their snowiest Aprils on record. This blizzard killed 1. (6/7)
The first season continued to be devastating. April 2022 had the most Extremely Critical Risk in that month since 2011. Notable fires included the Sand Creek, Calf Canyon & McBride Fires. (7/7)
