many predicted it would end badly, and asked Sa'd to reconsider. instead Sa'd, through her lawyer, said police would be there to "disperse" those who gathered outside her event
demonstrators set up outside the venue to oppose Sky and his dangerous messages
Sky showed up with many supporters, some of whom were armed, and they attacked the demonstrators

Sa'd apologized to the public and said she was reflecting on her actions, but has continued to blame others for her poor judgment
it hurts to see people who generally appreciate Caryma's work attacking and trolling those who had the courage to oppose her event. so unnecessary!
Sa'd was arrested a couple months ago at a Doug Ford campaign event—Hamilton cops falsely painted her as a threat
many people rightfully supported Sa'd here, but I was also annoyed—where was this same energy for people opposing Sky in Chinatown?

when you threaten people outside your event with police, but are outraged when the cops stop you outside Doug Ford's event, I have questions
many value the work Sa'd does in exposing a dangerous movement. I see a tendency to defend her brand—which is often self-serving and contradictory—instead of looking carefully at her work. is it exposing right-wing hate? does it actually rely on that hate in a particular way?
I'm sending my love to @chinatownFOCT, and to all those who were needlessly harmed, threatened, and vilified a year ago. I know some of you are still dealing with this. many of us have not forgotten 💜
