Hi @AishaYesufu, thanks for this initiative.

Here are 10 key priorities for the #CitizensAgendaDocument in a proposed order of importance.

These are all goals that have been achieved in one country or the other, so #ItsPOssible

I'll also add some simple measures of success 🧵

1. Strengthen the security infrastructure with a focus on protecting citizens, not just "catching thieves"

Nigerians should be able to do land travel from one geopolitical zone to the other without fear of attack (by bandits) or harassment (by police).

2. Fix electricity.

Nigerians should be guaranteed 24-hour electricity, not XYZ megawatt generation.

3. Reduce the cost of government, such that public office becomes financially unattractive to career politicians.

Bring debt servicing below 30% of government revenue.

4. Closely related to #3 above, remove the fuel subsidy and issue licenses to local private refineries.

Ensure Nigeria stops importing refined petrol in the next 4 years.

5. Fix healthcare.

Government officials should be happy to attend to their families' medical needs within Nigeria without it feeling like a punishment.

If it's good enough for us, make it good enough for them.

6. Enforce the rule of law and sanctity of contracts

Nigerian citizens and businesses must be assured that they can get justice via the court system.

I should be able to resolve a civil dispute in 12 months and EFCC should be able to close cases in 4yrs.

7. Eliminate bureaucracy from government processes

I should be able to apply for anything online and have it sorted in 2 weeks without "knowing somebody" or having to visit a government office.

8. Harmonize citizens' data across all government agencies e.g. NIN, BVN, GSM registration, passport details, voter registration etc.

This should be done without compromising privacy.

9. Protect freedom of speech & access to information

Make social media bans illegal and encourage independent fact-checking services instead.

Nigerians should know how federal and state revenue is spent, not just how it's budgeted.

10. Initiate further electoral reforms to cover topics like diaspora voting, ranked-choice voting, printing of candidates names alongside party logos on ballot sheets, etc.
