Here #EricLecy continues to talk about his former comrade #ClaudiaJones and her comradeship with #PaulRobeson, Eric explains the meaning of the ‘African spiritual’ songs of Paul Robeson and Robeson’s attitude towards the USSR.

#EricLevy continues to talk about #PaulRobeson here, emphasising the importance of his songs and encouraging young people to listen carefully to the meaning of his songs. He explains after the Second World War there was a the turn to repression of McCarthyism.

Here #EricLevy is explains that #ClaudiaJones rightly criticised him for believing in unity (with ussr and China etc) without correct principles. That #ClaudiaJones said one cannot leave out the Vietnamese struggle from this so-called unity.

#EricLevy here talks about the importance of #RobertFWilliams and was v happy we had heard of him, he explains a little about Williams, his Negroes with Guns book, his political life from Black resistance in the usa to his global travels and reach.

#EricLevy here explains that he wrote about the importance of Mao’s #RedBook for the paper of the Black Unity & Freedom Party (of which he was a member) and argues that white workers are often racist but they must be convinced out of that by black revolutionaries.

A few more comments: Eric Levy is a Jewish Hungarian heritage comrade. At this meeting in March 2020 he expressed his displeasure that a new leadership of the BUFP felt he couldn’t remain a member as he was white, but he wasn’t totally hostile to the new leadership either.

We have known and seen Eric Levy for decades around the Marxist Leninist / Maoist circles in London. At the meeting in March 2020 he expressed sadness that he was bullied and marginalised by the leadership of the ‘cpgbml’ of which he was a member.

We also discussed his support for Julian assange, he was taken aback when we explained Assange is a reactionary, a racist and a global “alt-right” figure. #EricLevy was open minded to this but we don’t know how much he looked into this.

It’s very ugly and wrong that the batshit crazy political community around supporters of Assange are manipulating #EricLevy and narrowing his life to that cesspit of a community.

In the meeting w #EricLevy he seemed somewhat lonely in life, and was anxious about the rising covid pandemic esp due to his elderly age. He really appreciated we took him out for a meal, we don’t think anyone did that for him for a very very long time. A very very sweet human.

#EricLevy conducted a seminar for our participants of our Claudia Jones Research Project, conducting the seminar in the cafe of the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton.

We just found this and we are shocked that utter scum attached to Assange would literally continue to manipulate #EricLevy to their trash politics even on his death bed. These people deserve a total slapping! We are v sorry Eric that you have been treated like this!

#EricLevy was totally selfless. He went to Iraq at the time of the imperialist invasion in early 2003 and he was willing to die in solidarity with the Iraqi people under usa / uk bombing.
