How my boyhood dream of seeing @Arsenal live came true surpassing all expectations. A mega thread 🧵 1/?
I was born in Colombia in 1990 and raised a fan of @nacionaloficial , the team that has historically played the best style of football in the country (lots will argue of course but that’s not the point here) 🧵2/?
Growing as a fan of football and video games, I discovered @EASPORTSFIFA in 1998 and started playing with this English football club that made me win games and started to be curious about the names in it, with the likes of Bergkamp, Anelka, Parlour, etc. 🧵3/?
After that, I started watching the premier league every morning, listening to @elbambinopons and falling in love with #wengerball and the displays of the man that made me fall in love with Arsenal forever : Thierry Henry 🧵4/?
Grew up to see the best and worse of my beloved Arsenal, always dreaming of seeing the team Live in London, not knowing that it would come true alongside my son, now a big #Arsenal fan himself and in the USA thanks to the #FloridaCup 🧵5/?
Bought tickets for sector P49 of the camping world stadium, which was the closest location to the Arsenal supporters area we could afford. The view was good, but we were going to be really far from any action or possible player interaction. Here’s where it gets interesting 🧵6/?
Once we reached our seats, I saw the great @GilbertoSilva was giving @Frimpon an interview down at the field, so ran with my boy to see him and maybe get an autograph. Didn’t get that close, but the spot I got into was where great things started to happen. 🧵7/?
There I met Karl, amazing guy from the staff who asked me who Gilberto was so that started a conversation between the two of us.
Turns out Karl let us into the handicap area, which had enough free seats for my wife,my son,our aunt and me so we ended up with floor seats 🧵8/?
Sitting there was a dream, my boy got to meet @Gunnersaurus and we got to see the players from much closer than we could have imagined, celebrating 4 goals with the most amazing view and atmosphere 🧵10/?
Our luck was gonna get even better. We were 3-0 up when a guy from the field staff approached My son and gifted him a vip Pass (no reason, just came from nowhere) At first I didn’t know what to do, but my wife pushed us to go an try getting into the field with it 🧵11/?
Decided to give it a try and went to the field entrance with my boy Lucas, where we were welcomed and allowed to stand just by the corner flag to watch the last 10 mins of the game,so we even celebrated Sambi’s goal 10 feet away from the players.🧵12/?
Once the game ended,we ran to where the players met the fans and got to greet and meet them and even take some pictures with before a security lady took us out. Asked both @gabimartinelli and Marquinhos for their shirts but they had to keep it for the trophy pictures. 🧵13/?
It was a dream come true and an unforgettable day for Lucas. Still can’t believe our luck and how we ended up in the field with the team I learned to love from thousand of miles of distance. Thank you @Arsenal #COYG
Here’s the moment we met the players from my wife’s view (sound on) 😂 Thanks to her for capturing all the moments yesterday @Arsenal @gabimartinelli
Just got another highlight of the night thanks to @Dom_dtp Lucas was caught on camera congratulating the guy who ran after the pitch invader by @AFTVMedia. You can tell how funny the whole thing was by the face of the people behind. My boy had such a great time
