Break ups have to be the most cruel and unusual part of modern culture that actually did not exist at a time when humanity was more human. The reason you feel intense and unfathomable pain when they happen is because it’s not supposed to happen at all except via death
When you’re dating, you’re not supposed to spiritually link to the person. You’re not supposed to bond yourself in ways that unbinding becomes as painful as ripping off a limb. Or even pulling a hair. You date to find out basic things. When you fall in love, you get married.
This modern culture of disposable materials sees people like ripped clothes or outdated gadgets and throws them away. As if when we love someone we done leave a piece of our hearts in them. That pain is a part of your heart being ripped away and you having to grow it anew.
Another reason breakups happen is that people are absolute pussies and don’t get married when they fall in love with someone. When the person you have feelings for shows him/herself to be a coward, you should be absolutely disgusted and walk away without being too hurt.
You’re saying “I love you” but he hasn’t even proposed marriage? That’s stupid bestie!
