Did Ramana Maharshi or Nisargadatta Maharaj ever feel sadness or sorrow?

Being spiritually enlightened, Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadutta Maharaj felt the sadness/sorrow of other people more than the people themselves.

Spiritually enlightened souls are not like walls.

A wall cannot feel the sadness or sorrows of others because it is just a wall.

Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadutta Maharaj were like mirrors. They would reflect the other person's mind.

Once a woman who had lost her only son came to
Sri Ramana Maharshi & started weeping profusely for her child.

Tears started trickling down from Sri Ramana Maharshi's eyes too.

The grief of that woman was too difficult for him to bear and he assured her that the same person would be born as her son again.

Once Sri Nisargadutta Maharaj's daughter was on her death bed.

She had expressed a wish to have some cool drinks before she died. That was her last wish.

Sri Nisargadutta Maharaj went out to purchase a bottle of cool drinks for his daughter.

On his return, he found the house inmates weeping loudly.

Sri Nisargadutta Maharaj was told that she was no more.

Taken aback, he said, “No! This cannot be. She had wished to have cool drinks before dying. She can't leave her body without fulfilling her wish.”

He then called her; strangely, she got up & sat.

Seeing her thus, Maharaj gave her the drinks.

Once she finished drinking, he asked her, “Do you want to continue living in your body?”

She replied, “No, I don't want to; it's very painful to live in this body.”

Nisargadutta Maharaj said, “Okay, then leave your body and go…” and she passed away.

The incident shows not only Sri Nisargadutta Maharaj's empathy with his daughter's pain but also his cool detachment.
