Mehmet Oz likes to pretend that Fetterman used family money his entire life. Although not true, let's pretend it is. What did John do in PA with all his money, you ask?
I'll fill you in, but with the amount of things he has done for Pennsylvanians, I'll have to start a thread.
He saw dilapidated buildings that were falling apart in his community, so he fixed them up, and gave people who were struggling a free place to live.
John & his wife, Gisele, knew that many Pennsylvanians were struggling with food insecurity & might not have had any food at all. So, they created @412FoodRescue, that has now saved over 25 MILLION pounds of food for those in need. John often drove the trucks of food himself.
John & Gisele also saw many people struggling to afford things most people take for granted. So, they created a "free store" (@15104FreeStore) where people can go to get everything from diapers, food, toys, surprise birthday bags & even flowers to make their homes beautiful.
John used his own money to build basketballs courts in his community & often watched the kids shoot hoops. They referred to John as "the only person who gives us hope."
Fetterman was also the "big brother" in a program to an 8 year old boy who lost both parents to AIDS. Before his mother passed, John promised her that he would see him through college & make sure he graduated. 15 years later, John was at his college graduation.
When John became Lt. Governor of PA, he was given the free mansion that comes with the position. This deal included a private chef & an enormous swimming pool. John declined, gave the property to benefit Veterans & opened the pool for less fortunate kids who never got to swim.
When times were tough for those in his community, he would often help people keep the electricity running & the gas flowing to heat their homes, even if it meant he bargained with the companies demanding payments.
Sometimes, you could find John throwing on a traffic vest to help out during an accident, or see him in the background at a crime scene doing whatever he could to help.
He saved a falling apart church from demolition & turned it into a community center, where the focus is on kids. It houses the Braddock Youth Project that he created to help at-risk youth. The center also serves as a cooling place, where people can go to relax on hot days.
John Fetterman has spent his entire life serving the people of Pennsylvania.
John IS Pennsylvania & that's why we will elect him to represent PA in the US Senate.
