With top presidential candidates Raila Odinga and William Ruto pledging to address the country’s gaping inequality.

There are four candidates competing for Kenya’s top position:

🔸 George Wajackoyah
🔸 David Mwaure

Polls have opened in Kenya’s election, with William Ruto, one of two top candidates running to replace President Kenyatta, casting his vote.

In Kenya, church leaders are supposed to stay out of party politics, but during this week’s presidential election preachers and prayers are playing a role ⤵️

President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived to cast his vote, with today’s presidential election largely seen as a referendum on his 10 years of leadership.

Besides the presidential election, Kenyans will also go to the polls to vote in governors, Members of the National Assembly, senators and Members of the County Assembly.

Raila Odinga, who is running for the presidency for the fifth time, has cast his vote.

The 77 year old was greeted by supporters as he arrived at a primary school turned polling station in Kibera, Kenya’s largest slum.

Kenya’s election commission said voter turnout will probably be around 60 percent.

Turnout in the last election in 2017 was nearly 80 percent.
