Another Nickelodeon star who worked with him was Miranda Cosgrove on her debut album “Sparks Fly”.
He wrote and produced the lead single “Kissin U”. Miranda was 16 years old when she was given the song to record.
Kesha wrote over 200 songs for her debut album “Animal”. Her 2009 demo song “Disgusting” was sold to Miranda Cosgrove for “Sparks Fly”. Dr.Luke worked as a producer on both albums.
Kesha sued Dr.Luke in 2014 stating she had little creative control of her music.
Kesha’s 2012 album “Warrior” aimed for a 70’s rock sound but suffered from her lack of creative control and conflict with Dr.Luke.
The pop-rock song “WooHoo” was sold off the album to Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush. With rewritten lyrics, the single was released as “Windows Down”.
Dr.Luke’s connection with Dan Schneider & Nickelodeon led him to have Kesha guest star in an episode of “Victorious”. In the episode, Kesha is shown portraying a ‘sleazy party girl’ act with an alcohol bottle. She was also stylized wearing decorative ammunition on the kids' show.
Jennette McCurdy and Avan Jogia have spoken about alcoholism on the sets of “iCarly” and “Victorious”. Kesha was present for this as a guest star on "Ice Cream for Ke$ha", the Victorious episode.
Aside from her guest appearance, Kesha’s unreleased music from “Animal” was used as backtracks in multiple “Victorious” episodes without being credited.
In 2016 Ariana Grande, who played Cat Valentine on “Victorious”, retracted her tribute to Dr. Luke amidst the #FreeKesha movement & lawsuit.

Sony Music offered Kesha freedom from having to contractually work with her abuser Dr.Luke only if she took her claims back. Similarly, Nickelodeon offered Jennette McCurdy $300,000 in hush money to stay quiet about her experiences with Dan Schneider and the studio.
