DCSD = Neutron cable?

Mirage device with USB ports shown:

That's my current writeup for Apple Test Devices. Might add a bit more later

Guess who got their hands in C-3PO and Sodium? Well not yet, but they are on their way in the mail…

C-3PO, mentioned exactly once in a framework inside Home Diagnostics. First one photographed on hand?

C-3PO Apple Test Device when plugged into computer.

C-3PO device information. Connected iPhone does not appear. Also appears as a serial device.

“Sodium” Apple Test Device. Recognizes iPhone when plugged in through micro-USB 3.0 interface (yuck), plus shows up as serial device (not working?). Yes that’s rust on the cable fitters. This device has already been seen in the wild, try searching for Sodium under #AppleInternal.

Interestingly enough, Sodium and C-3PO Apple Test Devices appear to have the same USB ID.

More Sodium Apple Test Device pictures! Main chip is an STM32F072CBU6 and the board ID is 920–03327-02. Third pic is an NFC chip with its respective antenna! More on this in the next tweet.

NFC tag appears to be “M24SR02-Y 2-Kbit Dynamic NFC tag with NFC Forum Tag Type 4 and I2C interface” (Marking Code: 24S64YA). Here is the data!

Forgot to mention this about Sodium: the red button seems to be for reset. Holding it results in the green LED turning off and the device not showing up in System Information anymore, and letting it go results in a quick flash of red followed by normal function.

This made me check the C-3PO Apple Test Device. No screwdriver to open it just yet, but the red button inside seems to function same. Here are some pictures from the listing I bought it from, and its NFC tag information. 👀 STM32F407.

Here is Needle:

And also Longclaw:

Some more info:

Zinc has 3 LEDs, Neutron has red yellow and green LEDs, Xenon has ethernet controller, Gallium, Caesium, & Palladium have USB-C, Carbon has SATA & ethernet, Titanium has FPGA, Radon and Palladium have HDMI video, Oxygen (master board) works with Carbon via UART

Potential Apple Test Device: my guess is Zinc (maybe Neutron) based on the 3 LEDs? Board is marked 920-03571-01, with an STM32F407VGT6. Was unfortunately not able to acquire this device, and the board may have in fact been lost or destroyed for the STM32 chip.
