Thread on the history of Jauhar:
This day, the 26th of August in 1303, Rani Padmini of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan along with 1000s of Rajputanis committed Jauhar to save their honor from Alauddin Khilji and his forces.

Earliest incidence of Jauhar was witnessed in Sindh, Thread1

then the kingdom of Raja Dahir, a Brahmin. It was the year 712 CE. One of Dahir's qeen Rani Bai challenged Muhammad bin Qasim’s troops for a battle. It was through treachery that Qasim entered her fort with his forces. Rani Bai, along with other ladies, arranged a huge - Thread2

Birsinghapur, Bengal defeated Giasuddin Iwaz Khilji, Sultan of Gaur in 1st battle. Khilji in 2nd battle attacked with cows with burning horns as defence; again an instance of treachery, which led to defeat of the Hindu king. The Bengali women committed Jauhar to save - Thread4

Raja Kampilideva of the Kampili kingdom near Gulbarga in Karnataka resisted the forces of Muhammad-bin Tughluq led by Malik Zada in battle until he fell. The women of Kampili committed Jauhar. It was 1327 CE.

The MEMORIAL will familiarize present generation and upcoming generations about how women ancestors not only fought but also sacrificed for Dharma.
