⚡️Set-Pieces Analysis ⚡️
Every Monday I choose an innovative Set-Piece routine to analyse, and luckily a corner routine is scored in the #EPL.
#Arsenal getting 3 points from another corner routine is highlighting the importance of having a specialist in the backroom staff.

The only Fulham player on man marking duty, is marking Gabriel on the penalty Spot.
Here you can see Gabriele making a “Separation” using his hands to take an advantage over his marker.
It’s a very common technique, and yeah it never got whistled anywhere in the world.

Before we get to the stage that Gabriele made a first contact to the ball. Let’s look how this space got even free. Xhaka made a run on the “flick zone” - a zone close to the tacker, check kane goal vs Wolves-, this dragged a Fulham player outside and the rest shifted forward.

And then Saliba, who pulled the Fulham defender briefly “yes not a foul” to delay him for a friction of a second. This allowed Gabriele to arrive to the delivery zone before him, and have a dynamic advantage “jumping after running is normally higher than from static position”

Finally, what we always talk about here, “framing the goal”, Arsenal had 5 players across the goal line to maximise their chances of getting on the ball.

Isn’t having a Set-pieces expert is like having an extra 15 goals striker?
