Bill last's visit to Adams Park was in April, when he cheered the boys on to a 1-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Gareth Ainsworth and Matt Bloomfield climbed the steps to give him the biggest of hugs at the final whistle.

We smuggled Bill into Wembley in 2020 as a 'media assistant'. The members of the press will always remember him on his feet cheering "Chairboys" non-stop for the final 30 minutes, urging his beloved Wycombe on to victory.

Gareth Ainsworth phoned Bill as soon as he learned of his cancer diagnosis in January 2018, and again straight after the 3-1 win that weekend, to dedicate the win to him.

They shared such a special relationship.

Bill was a proud ambassador of @ProstateUK, always keen to encourage men to get checked out. He was thrilled to actively support this dedicated fixture for the charity in 2018.

Bill was always at home in the press box - despite regularly insisting that the commentary position should return to the gantry for a better view.

He and @bluntphil shared so many iconic moments behind the mic.

@bluntphil Bill welcomed the teams onto the pitch for our day of celebration in 2018, as we marked our promotion to League 1 with a 1-0 win over Stevenage at Adams Park.

Always dressed for the occasion, Bill was the most charming of hosts at our awards dinners.

Bill's final week as a presenter on BBC Breakfast saw him host a live show from the red sofa on the Adams Park pitch in February 2016.

You meant the world to us, Bill. Rest in peace.
